It’s been a while since I’ve been able to post. I’ve heard it said that writers aren’t necessarily “doers”, because if you’re busy “doing”, then you don’t have time to write about it. I don’t know about that, but I do know that once the growing season kicks in high gear in Memphis, every bit of my spare time is taken. Today is no exception, so instead of writing, I’ll post pictures from Saturday’s day at Maw Weida’s 4-H garden, with a recent pic of one of my gardens at home. Things are going great. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy this time of year!

Butternut Squash

Zucchini

Dragonfly eating grasshopper

Dreaded Japanese beetles

Spring Planting

Friday, April 20 we (the Scotts) got a chance to prepare and plant the 4-H garden bed at Maw Weida’s. This garden was a great success last year – until the goats got loose and ate absolutely everything. Fact – goats don’t like to eat tomatoes, but they like to taste every last one before they spit it out on the ground. Grr.

Here are some shots from our planting day.
